WINTER CHILL - Self-care workshop

A morning to warm your body, replenish your energy and reconnect with yourself.

Sunday 29 November 10am - 1pm | Choseley House, Knowl Hill, Berkshire RG10 9YN

Investment: £55 per person early bird until 15 Nov, £65 after

Before Christmas gets going, come and give yourself a proper pause.

Winter is the season of the Water Element, when Chinese Medicine says we're meant to turn inward, rest and restore our deepest reserves. It calls this deep energy Jing. Most of us do the opposite. We push on through the dark afternoons, then wonder why we're running on empty by December.

Join Fiona Carson for a warming, hands-on morning of Shiatsu, Qi Gong, Chinese medicine wisdom, tuning forks and ginger compresses. You'll leave with simple tools to look after yourself all winter.

No experience needed. Just come as you are.

What we'll do

Gentle Qi Gong. Flowing movement and slow breathing to help you land, soften and feel your body again.

Shiatsu for yourself and others. Simple, nurturing touch you can use on yourself and the people you love, and keep up at home.

Makako-Ho stretches. Easy meridian stretches from the Japanese tradition that wake up the body and create a bit of space.

Jing: your deep reserves. Jing is the energy we're born with and the foundation of our resilience. Winter is the time to top it up. We'll look at how the Kidney and Bladder meridians connect to it and how to live by the season rather than fight it.

The Extraordinary Vessels. Think of these as the body's deep reservoirs of energy. This is rarely taught and I'm really looking forward to sharing it. You'll learn a simple way to connect with them and draw on that stored energy when you're tired or depleted.

Winter acupressure. A few good acupressure points to add to your own self-care routine.

Make your own ginger compress. This is a favourite. We'll prepare a traditional ginger compress together, with that fresh, spicy smell filling the room and I'll show you how to use it at home when you need warming up.

Tuning forks. Gentle sound and vibration to help you settle and drop into your body.

Deep rest. Time to let it all sink in before you head back out into the world.

This isn't about doing more.
It's about giving yourself permission to stop. To drop your shoulders. To feel warmth in your hands. To breathe a little deeper. Rest isn't a luxury. It's how we refill.

You'll leave feeling warm, grounded and nurtured, with practical tools for the colder months.
